Recording of hearings (MHT)
Remote hearings have been recorded since 15/1/24, but face-to-face hearings are not recorded and neither are pre-hearing examinations.
The following information was provided by the Deputy Chamber President to the MHLA Conference on 15/11/24:
- Recordings are made under of the "one judiciary" agenda because other jurisdictions record their hearings, .
- Face-to-face hearings are not recorded because of practical difficulties.
- Very few applications for transcripts are made - approximately 3-4 so far.
- It is estimated that a half-day transcript would cost £500, with a full day transcript costing £1,000.
