The following guidelines are all you'll need to start creating pages on the Wikimental database.

Any page except the Main Page can be edited. To edit any page which you are reading:

  • Click "edit" at the top of the page.
  • Make your changes.
  • Click "save".

Adding a new page

Note that RED links are links to pages which do not yet exist. Click on a red link to create the page.

To add a new page of your own, make a link to your new page:

  • Go to the page where your new page belongs (e.g. if you are adding a case, go to the caselaw index page).
  • Click "edit".
  • Add an internal link (see below) to your proposed page.
  • Click "save".

Now make your new page:

  • Click on the red link which you have created.
  • Type your page.
  • Click "save".

Adding an internal link (to another Wikimental page)

When editing the page, just place two square brackets at each side of the page name, e.g. [[Mental health caselaw]] becomes Mental health caselaw

Adding an external link (e.g. to Bailii)

The easy way:

The hard way:

  • Enclose the website address with single square brackets.
  • After the website address, leave a space and type the website name.

e.g. [http://www.bailii.org.uk The Bailii website] becomes The Bailii website

Adding section headings (like this one)

Enclose the section heading with == on either side, e.g. == Section heading ==.

Use === for sub-headings.
