The following guidelines are all you'll need to start creating pages on the Wikimental database.

Editing a page

To edit any page which you are reading, click "edit" at the top of the page.

Adding a page

Go to the page where your new page belongs. E.g. if you want to add "s117 Mental Health Act 1983" then go to the "Mental Health Act 1983" page.

Add a link (see below) to your proposed page. Save the change.

The link will be red. Click on it.

Type your page. Save the changes.

Adding an internal link

I.e. to a new Wikimental page.

Click "edit" on the page you want to contain the link.

Type your new page name in the correct place.

Enclose the page name with [[ at the beginning and ]] at the end.

e.g. [[s3 Mental Health Act 1983]]

becomes

s3 Mental Health Act 1983

Adding an external link

E.g. to the Bailii website.

Click "edit" on the page you want to contain the link.

In the correct place on the page type:

  • [ (only one square bracket for external links)
  • http://www. etc (the full website address e.g. www.lawsociety.org.uk)
  • a space character
  • a description of the site (e.g. The Law Society)
  • ]

On the same line you can add:

  • a dash i.e. -
  • a further description of the link

For example:

[http://www.lawsociety.org.uk Law Society] - The solicitors' regulatory and representative body

which appears as

Law Society - The solicitors' regulatory and representative body

Adding section headings (like this one)

Simply type, on a new line:

  • ==
  • Your heading name
  • ==

e.g. == Section heading ==
