Platt v High Court of the Republic of Ireland [2024] EWHC 1821 (Admin)

Extradition This appeal against an extradition order was founded on two factual propositions which, it was said, the District Judge failed or failed sufficiently to recognise: (1) detention of the appellant's partner under the MHA was a virtually certain consequence of the appellant's extradition; (2) There was a real risk that public mental health services would fail to ensure that the appellant's partner did not commit suicide or carry out acts of serious self-harm in the event of the appellant's extradition.
